We are sad to announce that due to various contributing factors of the economic downturn, Volumes bookshop will be starting a closing down sale this Friday.  It brings to an end over eleven years of trading in Romsey, during which time the shop became an active part in many different community activities.  Shop owner Simon Hunter said, “It has been the hardest decision of my life to take and one that may be a surprise to many but from a bottom line point of view I can’t keep the shop open any longer.”

Volumes, established in 1998, took over as the bookseller in Romsey from the former bookshop Ruskins but with a more modern approach to bookselling.  With a focus on current titles, travel guides and coffee Volumes quickly became an exciting addition to the shopping experience in Romsey.  Book related events soon became a feature and over the years there have been many varied events held by the shop.  Book signings by bestselling authors, book groups, the annual World Book Day celebrations, travel talks & competitions have all been huge hits with customers of all ages.  Simon continued, “It ‘s been fantastic to be part of such a great community and to get to know so many loyal customers, to whom I extend my heartfelt thanks.  Volumes has always been a friendly and exciting place to come and I hope this will remain until we close our doors for the final time.”

The shop will remain open for a closing down sale where all stock will be reduced until cleared.
